ASSISTANT
Events & Marketing Assistant - Part-Time

Brief Job Description: Assist marketing director with communication strategies and events.
Benefits: n/a
Schedule: Part-Time (24 hours per week); 3 days on-site including 1 Saturday per month; typical daily schedule is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Purpose of Position: To assist the marketing department with raising awareness of Busch Wildlife Sanctuary.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Helps with onsite education department events by promoting marketing for the event (i.e. print, social media, FB events page), help with set-up, during and break-down of events.

Create and schedule strategic content of the organizations’ digital media presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, YouTube, email marketing, etc. as directed by Marketing Director.

Tracks marketing results including website and social media metrics monthly.

Assists the Marketing Director with web-based and community marketing and fundraising campaigns, including social media advertisements.​

Attends and supports marketing outreaches as needed.
​

Represents BWS at public and professional events as requested.​

Submits calendar listings to the Events & Marketing Director, to send to all media outlets for events and programs

Proofreads marketing and promotional materials as requested.

Under the direction of the Marketing Director, grows and manages BWS’s email lists utilizing best practices and creative list-growth techniques. ​

Assists with special projects as needed.

Self-starter

Excellent social media knowledge (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube)

Experience with email campaigning (Mailchimp)

Great communication and interpersonal skills

Willingness to follow Busch Wildlife Sanctuary’s policy and procedures

Valid Florida Driver’s License

Driving/Traveling Locally

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Physical Requirements:

Applicants will work both in a general office setting and outside in the sanctuary. Must have tolerance for working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and exposure to biting insects, etc.

Need to be able to walk over rough narrow paths, wood-chipped trails, muddy areas, grassy fields, on uneven paths, etc.

Must be able to lift up to 20lbs for event assistance
