Animal Painting Sessions
What is an animal painting session?
The Busch Wildlife Animal Care team developed this experience as enrichment for our animal residents, and to also give visitors a wonderful memory to take home!
This is a fun, interactive session for all ages.
Each session is about 35 mins. depending on the animal. It's possible it could take a little longer.
Our amazing animal handlers educate and assist you with "target training" to guide the animal with their painting during the session.
Our animals really enjoy the enrichment of this painting activity. We are continuously working with our animal ambassadors to get them ready to join in on the fun.
You are able to take your painting home that day!
How Much Does It Cost?
Otter/Fox - $150 for an 8”x10” canvas. $175 for an 11”x14” canvas.
Panther - $200 for an 11”x14” canvas.
Each painting session includes 1 complimentary canvas.
Additional canvases can be purchased for $25 each.
Painting sessions may only be booked with one animal at a time.
Deposit & Payment: Please be aware there is a required $50 deposit due at the time of the booking. Animal Painting Sessions are not confirmed until a deposit is received. We will contact you via cell phone to book your Painting Session after you submit your Painting Request Form. We accept cash, check, or credit card. The rest of the balance is due on the day of your painting and can be paid in the Welcome Center. The deposit will be deducted from the total balance.
Do I need a reservation?
Yes. Reservations are required to be made at least 48 hours in advance so staff can properly prepare for your visit. Fill out the Painting Form below to book a session!
Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time. And be sure to wear close toed shoes since our pathways can be uneven and you will be walking behind the scenes.
Animal paintings are available on
Tuesday-Saturday at the following times:
Otter/Fox - 10:30am, 11:00am, 11:30am, 12:00pm, 12:30pm
Panther - 11:00am, 11:30am, 12:00pm
What Animals Can I Paint With?

Otter - 4 people max.

Fox - 6 people max.

Panther - 4 people max.
Your party will be accompanied by 1 staff member.

Are Cameras Allowed?
Absolutely! Photos and videos are allowed during the animal painting experience and are a great way to remember your visit. Remember to tag @buschwildlifesanctuary on Instagram and Facebook!
Need to cancel your session?
If a request for cancellation is made at least 24 hours before the scheduled event the deposit will be refunded.
Cancellation requests should be emailed to
[operations@buschwildlife.org ]. We can not refund deposits for cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled session OR if the scheduled session is missed.
