Program Descriptions

  • At Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, guests can enjoy daily wildlife encounters in the Educational Amphitheater featuring native Florida animals. Each Conservation Conversation offers a unique, up-close experience with our animal ambassadors, highlighting wildlife biology, habitats, and conservation efforts.

  • Explore Florida’s wetland and coastal bird species, including roseate spoonbills, pelicans, ducks, and crows, while learning about their habitats and behaviors.

  • Watch a live alligator feeding with our resident adult alligator, Freddy, and discover why Florida alligators are a vital keystone species in local ecosystems.

  • Learn about Florida’s two native fox species, the red & gray foxes, including their adaptations, habitats, and survival skills.

  • A family-friendly storytime featuring wildlife-themed books and close-up encounters with animal ambassadors.

  • Discover the playful world of North American river otters, from their swimming abilities to their social behaviors.

  • Meet native birds of prey from the small but mighty eastern screech owl to the symbolic bald eagle learning how they support Florida’s ecosystems.

  • Explore the fascinating world of reptiles, including alligators, snakes, and turtles, inside the interactive & air-conditioned Reptile Complex.

  • Learn about Florida flatwoods wildlife, including white-tailed deer, turkeys, and cranes, and the unique behaviors that help them thrive.

  • Join Gerry, our musically inclined education volunteer, to meet our animal ambassadors and partake in an educational sing-along about these native species. It's learning and fun all rolled into one!
